Okay – time to get serious. No doubt everyone’s heard of Thirsty Merc by now. This is the Sydney outfit’s new single, "My Completeness".

"My Completeness" is a big, beautiful, free-spirited slice of classic-styled pop rock. From its rich three-part harmonies and melodic piano, right through to its hard rock centre, it comes from a young group of musicians who obviously know their craft inside out.

If Thirsty Merc’s last single, the clever and cheeky "Emancipate Myself", incorrectly led anyone to believe this band might be something of a novelty act, "My Completeness" should set them straight.

“'My Completeness' shows a more poetic, ‘Rock Sinatra’ side to Thirsty Merc,” says frontman Rai Thistlethwayte. “Yet it still has all the hallmarks of what we're trying to do: it’s melodic, it’s honest, and it rocks its bloody arse off. We’re stoked!”

And so they should be. Thirsty Merc have sure made their presence felt in the local music scene since the release of their debut EP, "First Work", just on a year ago. The energy, quality and growing popularity of their live shows around the country recently saw Thirsty Merc earn a nomination as best new live act at the Jack Awards.

And this is just the start. Not only is "My Completeness" the new Thirsty Merc single, the song also doubles as the opener of the band’s debut album, simply entitled "Thirsty Merc", set for release in August. Just wait until you hear it.

"My Completeness" will be in stores on July 19. Thirsty Merc will tour again nationally through July and August.
